hi, i don't really know much about laptops so i was hoping for some advice on buying one. I have a budget of around £400-£500, and would like these sorts of specifications if possible (the ones in brackets would be preferred if the budget allows for it, but they aren't really necessary):

intel core i5, 2.0 ghz (or 2.4 ghz)
4GB ram (or 8GB)
at least 750 GB hard drive
15.6 / 17.3 “ screen
NVIDIA graphics (don’t know much about graphics cards, but just as good as the price can get)

Thanks in advance for any help :)

If you've already got an OS then here's this: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/cosmosII/
has a gtx 850M - will do whatever graphic work you want, you can push to I5 4200M and 4GB for £549 - upgrading to 750GB HDD is only £7 more.
if you take out the OS then it'll be £470 so you can add a few other bits like 8GB ram
if not then I really do advise you to stretch your budget a bit - this configuration would easily be £800+ anywhere else so it's well worth the extra £50
