Will be planning on buying the laptop next week on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Hopefully will have a nice selection of laptops to look out for when searching for deals.

T series are pretty much the top of the line for durability and construction. The screen on the E models is better than the T450 you are looking at and it should still be good. Don't know about battery life, the T models I worked with up to the 430 have all had less battery life than other laptops in the same range.

If you will be using the laptop without an external monitor I would move towards the E model with the IPS 1080 screen.

Prices for the systems seem a bit high but that is likely due to the currency conversion and your area prices.

Even though a standard drive is cheaper, your budget easily fits a solid state drive in a basic use system.

Issue is that there are a ton of systems you can pick from now, but what you will have on sale in your area next week is not known. May help if you link a few of the systems you are looking at to pick from instead of listing 100 models that match what you are looking for.

Sorry for the late reply, there are soooo many laptops and different versions of models out there. I spent hours looking at different laptops and it was brutal since I don't understand the specs. (AMD vs INTEL cpu's, graphics cards, 1366x768 vs 1920x1080, etc...)
I've picked out 8 laptops (Mainly Lenovo, Dell, and HP)

Lenovo Thinkpad E Series, Lenovo Ideapad,Dell Inspiron,Dell Latitude,HP ProBook, and an Acer Aspire E15

Lenovo Thinkpads -- Two with 500GB HDD and one with 256GB SSD

Lenovo IdeaPad

Dell Inspiron

Dell Latitude

HP ProBook

Acer Aspire

The Acer and the HP ProBook are on the expensive side. I would like to spend around $600-800 for a good basic use laptop that isn't super slow, doesn't stutter and loads videos well. I will go up to $1000 if I have to.

I would prefer a SSD, but a HDD would be perfectly fine as well. My auntie wouldn't notice. Please let me know your thoughts on my selections and if there are any other brand/models that I should look into.

I have decided to go with the Lenovo Thinkpad. I am just on the fence about whether I should go with the T450 or the E570.
Lenovo Thinkpad E570 -- $999.99
https://www.mikescomputershop.com/product/7907420
Lenovo Thinkpad T450 -- $849.99
https://www.mikescomputershop.com/product/5724253

I noticed that on the T models, they don't have optical drives. I am sure the optical drive will not be used much but I would like to have one just in case anyway.
The E570 has 1920 x 1080, IPS screen, Optical Drive, and is 15.6"
The T450 has 1600 x 900, ??? screen, NO optical Drive, and is 14"

It seems that the E570 has better specs but from my google research, people are saying that the T series are built more durable and have better battery life.
Battery life, durability and a nice screen is what matters for this purchase.
I am leaning towards the E570 but from what I gather, the E series doesn't seem to be durable. Does the E series have good build quality?
