Laptop for Software Engineering Major

Hello, I'm looking into buying a new laptop for college and have been looking at a few options but nothing has caught my eye just yet. I'm willing to spend about $1000 given that's a really good laptop and can last about 2-3 years. I have glanced a good bit at the Lenovo Ideapad Y570 model laptop which is a nice choice but I have read that it has some issues with it's keyboard and bloatware which concerns me. I have also looked into hp and acer laptops as well as some dells. Most of the other brands have nice laptops too but not with all of the nice specs into one laptop.

If you're a software engineering major, you should have no problem reinstalling Windows or simply uninstalling the bloatware.

This doesn't really help me with a laptop choice though. If need be I can do those things but it would also be nice to not have to do so from the beginning. Just need some help choosing the right laptop that will be perfect for what I need it to do at the right price.
