I have a ASUS GL553VE-FY033T / 15.6" which has a GTX 1050Ti, i7 7700HQ CPU@2,8GHz, 8GB ram. the GPU temp is around 40-50 in idle mode but as soon as I start a game such as Overwatch it instantly goes up to 70+. I am worried that the temp will increase to 85+ when I play more demanding games like the wticher 3. It gets extremely hot on the side and undernearth the laptop, it gets slightly warm under the keyboard as well. I am wondering if longer game sessions(4hours+) could damage something.

According to (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-ti,4787-5.html) your GPU should eaisly run games like The Witcher 3 on medium settings. According to (http://www.pcgamer.com/gtx-1050-ti-review/) your PC can run basically any game at 1080P Medium settings at least 45 FPS. My advice for you is to check that on overwatch your running it on 1080P Medium, as Overwatch (surprisingly) is quite a Graphically Demanding Game.
