Laptop getting too hot

Hi there guys. My laptop seems to be getting way too hot, I doesn't BOSD but the temperatures seem far too high, just leaving it idle from power on and only a few background programs running the mobo is hitting almost 80c and the CPU is averaging around 76c, today I took it apart and gave it a nice clean, no dust left but that hasn't helped much.

I think my CPU could do with a new fresh bit of thermal paste, but that won help out the mobo or HDD much. The fan is working and drawing out a lot of heat, but is there any recommendations to cure the problem? Apart from suggesting getting a desktop (I'm working on getting one now), it's also got sufficient air flow with no blockage either.

There are a couple of laptop bases that have active fans that are supposed to blow air towards the bottom of the laptop as it sits on them. You could try to Google these, although if I remember correctly they don't do too much in cooling the laptop. Reason for htat is, the only active air that gets moved inside the case is coming from all the ports and creaks in the case and is actively exhausted by the fan. At best you can achieve some battery cooling with these.
If you have access to the CPU and heatsink, might as well go ahead and replace the thermal paste (very thin layer, etc, you know the drill). Measure again the temps after that, you should have some improvement. Also keep in mind that a laptop WILL run at higher temps than a desktop, just because of it's design.

The fan in this one draws the air in through the front just under the trackpad, and out through the back.

I understand to expect more heat but I wasn't expecting 80c, that seems far too high?
