I have an Acer Aspire 7740G-6364 with an ATi Radeon HD 5650 graphics card (dedicated 1GB). I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade that graphics card, and if so how can I tell what I can upgrade to? Thanks, Max.
The only way to upgrade laptop cards is to sell the laptop and buy a new one. Only very high end gaming laptops and workstation replacement laptops have GPUs that can be replaced and even then, the replacements can cost as much as a new laptop.
Well my laptop has a bus interface that is PCI 2.0 x16, and dedicated memory. I was hoping that would mean I could upgrade the graphics card. But I may very well be stuck buying a new gaming laptop.
