Hello,
I have a IBM R51 and I installed a clean Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
The problem is I cant set up its graphics driver to work, it has a chipset 855gm in it ...
(is this right? 😛)
and the driver in Device Manager says this: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582&SUBSYS_05571014
, I find the driver and i install it, its quite boring process because it is WinXP driver/chipset and when I install it it can see it in device manager, its installed and Standard VGA disappears, I know its the right driver I remember how it looked like, and it asks me to restart the laptop. When it starts again up, it changes to Standard VGA... The laptop is pretty weak and the only thing I'm doing this is because I play Warcraft3 LAN on it, but when I start the game it just sits there, launching frozen throne and I later have to end task it.

How can I make it not change to VGA?
Previous settings were: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit(same) and the drver worked just fine, I got it from some small pc shop and I have no idea how they got it to work, I tried everything :)

Please help, thank you.

I would not use that iobit thing, I just worked on a laptop that had it installed and had to clean it out to make the system usable.

Get the drivers from Lenovo/IBM support page. If there are no supported video drivers for that model there, you need to do some web searches to track down a drivers that works. I'm guessing your Win 7 Ultimate is not a legal setup even from that small PC shop, but you may as well ask them what drivers they used.
