Hello,
I have a Compaq Presario F700 bought new in 2007 that I think has a fried CPU/motherboard - it no longer boots up, black screen even when the hard drive is removed, fan runs, can hear it trying to start with little grinding noise every few seconds, then tries to reboot every minute or so unsuccessfully.

Can its 120 GB hard drive with Vista OS be put into another used laptop purchased from Ebay, such as
1) Acer Aspire 5532 OR
2) Dell Inspiron E1505 OR
3) Dell Inspiron 600m OR
4) Dell Latitude D620 OR
5) Gateway 3520GZ OR
6) Toshiba A135-S4527

Thanks, Len

You might be able to use the drive in another laptop if it's the same size, but you will probably have to re-install the operating system for the new laptop unless it is the same model as the original.

Even something as small as the processor changing requires a re-install of the OS.

If you're just looking to get some files off of the drive, pick up a USB to Sata connector kit that has the power cables too and you can just plug it into your new PC via that to get the files off.
