Laptop Issues

Hello,
Well I got a Dell Inspiron 3520 laptop for Christmas and it has been working great until now. It wont play any sound, not with headphones! I dont know what to do its brand new. The volume is turned all the way up to and ive been trying to play some music and I cant hear a thing.Please help!!

You're in the headphone jack and not the mic jack? Also check your sound options in control panel to make sure headphone audio is active
