Laptop keeps crashing in game

I recently bought a MSI GT62VR 6RE dominator pro-087 laptop. GTX 1070, i7-6700HQ. Rest of the specs aren't nearly as important. My problem is that I keep getting weird crashes, either white screen with strange purple artifacting in some squares, or the game just goes black. Both are followed by a system restart, but not any windows recovery options, just boots back up without any "windows detected a problem" warnings. The CPU and GPU stay around 65-70 degrees during gaming, and I can run Furmark for hours on end without the problem. Reinstalling WHQL drivers help, but after a restart or two, the problem will come back. My hunch is there's a power delivery problem, but I am new to gaming on a laptop. It's on high performance, battery saver off etc., link state power management is off... Not sure what to do. Any answer is appreciated.
