Laptop keeps overheating.

My laptop keeps overhearing , why is it ?
Is it because of my battery? My battery is really bad and shuts off after 10m of the charger not plugged in.

It most likely needs to be cleaned, badly.

I highly doubt it's your battery. Your battery is probably shot from old age which leads me to believe your laptop has been accumulating dust for some time.

For starters, get a can of compressed air and take your laptop outside. Spray the air in the vents of the laptop where the hot air comes out.

as said above if it still is powering off from heat you will have to open it up and re apply thermal compound on the cpu/heatsink which really should be done regardless since it was running so hot. also check your fan to make sure it is spinning, could also be a bad fan

no just used compressed air and blow out the heatsink you will see it from the outside blow in towards the fan too
