Laptop key number nine not working

I have a Toshiba Lap top. The number nine digit stopped working a few weeks ago, its been hell without it!

THANK you very much. I shall give this a go.

I did pull the key off to have a look behind it when it was not working, on occassion the nine would work by just pushing the little clear rubber thing under the key then that stopped. I assumed it was an electrical thing? Still unsure about this. Can at least try your suggestion. Again, thanks and will be in touch once try that out. I'm living on a small island and those few people who may be able to fix it knowing that we have no computer marts to go to here, tend to charge you a fortune as we don't have the choice here.
