laptop keys not working

Does anyone have a clue as to why some of my brothers laptop letter keys have just stopped working?Some of them work, some do. They feel fine when pressed but its just like the laptop doesnt recognise them being pressed
Help please

Sounds like the keyboard had packed in. First remove the keyboard (google for tutorial if you are not sure how to do this) and give it a good blow out with compressed air, sometimes crap under the keys is the issue. If still not working then you will need to replace the keyboard (you can purchace replacements for most laptops). A cheaper fix or temporary fix is to use a standard USB keyboard, its not ideal but at least you will still be able to use the laptop.

Had the same issue with my laptop and had also thought of removing the keyboard to clean underneath, but before taking it apart I tried something I'd read in a past forum that worked instead.... Press & hold either Shift key for about 30 seconds.
Since doing this, I've had no other issues. Couldn't believe it worked, actually!! You could also run an antivirus or anti-malware scan. This will sometimes find and fix the issue for you, even when your system shows that the keyboard is functioning properly.
