I haven't used my laptop in a couple of months since I don't need it anymore and now the battery won't charge.

It is a Toshiba Satellite A-105 S2194. Im the original owner and original battery. 4 or 5 year old laptop.
I left it off and plugged into the wall to charge the battery for 5 hours and shows no warmth or power going to the battery. Checked the windows settings to see if the battery function is disabled and it isn't and says it is charging, but been at 0% for hours. Running the latest BIOS ver 5.6 and this isnt one of the batterys that had problems back in 2006.

I did a reinstall of my laptop to factory settings yesterday because I do plan on selling it one day, but this is the 1st time the battery will not charge

Before I spend $30 on a new battery I would like to know if it is something went out inside the laptop or the battery is old and can't even charge?
Whats good selling a laptop if you cant use it outside a room :p

Solution
the usual live expectancy of a battery is about 2-3 years; therefore, it could well be that it died of old age.

$30 is really cheap for a battery most cost about $100

Yes for a new one on ebay. These are the same model numbers as mine and has the same laptop model, but my battery says 4000mAh and these for sale say 4400mAh. 400 more mAh is safe and I really dont want to spend too much. My laptop is only valued at $140 or so.
