I have gericom phantom design + (this is laptop) and i'm having a problem when i plug it and start it up it doesn't show noting its just black screen. I hear disk and CD ROM working. I could open it if you say so.

Intel pentium dual core T2370
250GB
windows vista
Motherboard /(i don't know)
ram DDR2 2gb
(Sorry for spelling mistakes)

Solution
I doubt it's the power adapter, usually +/- 1V isn't going to affect operation. I'll suggest trying to reset again. I'll also suggest checking the voltage of the CMOS battery to ensure it's at 3V since (for reasons I can't figure) that battery going bad can have an impact on operation in some laptops.
While in there, look over the motherboard for any obvious discoloration which may indicate a burnt component and also any blown/leaky capacitors
I'll suggest shining a flashlight at the screen to see if there is a faint image which would indicate the display's backlight power inverter is faulty. If unable to see anything using a flashlight, I'll suggest trying an external display, see where you get

Thanks for the tip but i already try that and it didn't work. In fact im right now sitting in may room and looking at the completely broken pc ( i mean i have only the ram, motherboard, cpu and fans installed and still doesn't work) i cleared cmos and remove ram an put it back... Im starting to think there's no hope..... or it could be the psu, i mean its has only 19.3 V and pc needs 20V ...
please reply

Thank you for your support "C12 Friedman" but yes i checked the CMOS battery and yes the voltage is correct but i also replace it with the new battery and still it didn't work. And i just must say that i got bored one day trying to fix the computer so i just open it again and i took everything that is valuable out and everything that wasn't valuable i throwed in the trash.
And also i tied one more time before i completely destroy the pc and the smoke went out of motherboard.
I just wanna say thank you for helping (and yes i looked for obvious discoloration...nothing wrong there)
