I will be going into college this fall and my budget is at most 1100 TOTAL, including taxes and everything. I wanted to play Call of Duty: Black Ops and other games. So i don't know if i should buy the Lenovo laptop for $999 TOTAL, already including all the additional charges, or if I should buy a less expensive laptop, the $200 dollar Xbox 4gb slim, and a $150 19 inch HDTV. Below are the specifics.

IdeaPad Y560 Laptop - 06462QU - Black ------ $999 TOTAL
Core i5-450M 2.4GHz (500 GB HDD - 32 GB SSD)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 1GB
15.6" HD LED Glare 1366x768
Here is the link for more info: Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 06462QU Notebook - Core i5 i5-450M 2.4GHz - 15.6" (Note: I will be buying from another site, but this one has a lot of info)

OR

Xbox 360 Slim 4GB Game Console --------------- $220 TOTAL

Viore 19" Class 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV (walmart) ----------- $165 TOTAL

IdeaPad Z560 Laptop - 09143AU - Black ------------- $650 TOTAL by 09/08/10
Intel® Core™ i3-350M Processor ( 2.26GHz 1066MHz 3MB )
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64
Intel HD Graphics
3 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz
15.6" HD Wide LED 1366x768
500GB 5400
DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)

The Overall Total would be $1035

Which way do you guys (and girls) think I should go?

These are other possible Laptop Choices. Feel free to recommend other laptops.

If you want to play games on the laptop, the only option out of the ones you listed is the first one with the Radeon video card. If you do a search of the forums I'm sure there are lots of suggestions for a not-so bad gaming laptop for around $600. Note that you will have some trade-offs with these, like lower resolution you can play at, smaller screen, etc...

I'd go for a slightly cheaper laptop and then get the Xbox. If you are simply going to game and then the laptop is for class that makes more sense that trying to get a gaming laptop and being tempted to play games on it while in class. FYI if you look around at best buy you can find some very decent student laptops and they are tossing in a free 4GB 360 arcade as a bonus when you buy certain models. Might be something worth checking out. That way you get a brand new laptop that'll do everything you need it to for classes and you have your 360 for relaxing afterwards with.
