Laptop randomly shut down: not turning on, not charging

Earlier today, my HP envy 17 laptop suddenly turned to a black screen, and shortly after, it turned off. I tried to turn it back on, but it didn't. The charging light does not turn on when using the charger. I have switched it out for another charger, and even tested the old one, and it seems to be a problem in this HP laptop as the chargers work on another laptop.

I also tried taking out the battery, holding the power button for thirty seconds and putting the battery back and charger, but to no alas.

If it helps, whenever the battery is plugged in, I hear a very faint but constant tapping noise inside my laptop. It doesn't come from my hard drive, though. Thanks for any help!

Hello,
I believe you have one of two faults:

1. The motherboard has a power issue.
2. The charger pin connector is faulty.

You can attempt to leave the battery out of the laptop for a long period. If all else fails you may have to take it to a repair shop.
