Hey all,
Been looking for the right laptop for my parents, but still haven't found one.
1. What is your budget? about 900$
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15.6" or 17"
3. What screen resolution do you want? 1080p
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? doesn't matter
5. How much battery life do you need? doesn't matter
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? No games
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) They use skype alot, browse the internet, emails, word documents, youtube
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? at leats 500gb
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Newegg.ca, Tigerdirect.ca really anything canadian
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 5 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?just a DVD show work
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. We have a toshiba now, but it slowed down and they just didn't like it.
13. What country do you live in? Canada
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
Some additional info is that they need
-A HD webcam with good mic and speakers
-Backlit keyboard
-a good wireless card
-something that won't slow down
The computer is mainly used by my mother for talking to relatives which is why a good webcam would be nice. Also, used by my dad for his business. We actually looked at a Lenovo Y500, but there was no optical drive. Any help is greatly appreciated.
