Solved! Laptop screen has streaking color lines and sometimes black

I have an asus rog gl552vw and it’s been acting weird the past few weeks when the laptop boots up there are colourful streaks on the screen and sometimes the screen will just turn off sometimes if I put it to sleep and wake it up the screen will turn on or if I plug in an HDMI and then unplug it it will come back

Nope just pinkish purple lines

Try an external monitor/TV if the image is similar or just ok. If it´s not right there too, the GPU in your laptop is faulty. (a repair wouldn´t be worth it)

If the image is changing while you move the lid, it might be the monitor connection to the motherboard. Replace the LVDS ribbon cable, would be something like that:

or your LCD monitor is just faulty
