Hi, my laptop screen sometimes turning on, but sometimes not. Yesterday, it took me 30 minutes to turning on/off my laptop to get the screen finally turn on; today, it took me more than an hour.
What happens is, at first attempt to turn on, the screen is just white, then when I turn it off and then on again, the screen would just be black. Any ideas on how to resolve the problem? Thanks!

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to connect an external monitor and see if it will work.
- If the external monitor will display normal while the laptop display will not that could mean that the problem is the built in display.
- You may need to open the laptop and check the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard.
- But if the external monitor will exhibit the same problem then the problem may lie in the GPU.
- If the laptop will boot up normally do a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics card driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to the graphics card.
- Once done, download an install the latest driver.
- Reboot your laptop once the latest driver has been installed then observe if the same problem will persist or not.
- If all these will not work last option would be to reinstall Windows.
