Laptop screen water damage

Some water spilled on my acer aspire laptop, causing the screen to randomly freeze or give the screen an overal blue colour to it, all while the image is distorted. what could be done to fix this?

If the spillage wasn't too long ago, cover the affected area with uncooked rice and that will slowly absorb the liquid. If the screen wasn't moistened, the problem could be in the graphics chip and the rice might be able to draw the moisture away from it.
