laptop screen won't turn on

so I haven't used my laptop in a while, it is a toshiba satellite c55-b5101 and I can't get the screen to turn on. I have charged it for a long time now and the light for the battery is white when plugged in. I can turn on the power button and the light turns on. I have tried many methods of like taking out the battery and charging without it then putting it back in and whatever but none have worked. does anyone have any advice? I need it to work ASAP!

Did you try to use an external monitor?

This might seem unrelated, but reseat your RAM. If the RAM is not properly seated then it won't work either. Your RAM might be broken also Then try again. Does it work? If it doesn't, then you might want to try an external monitor (which you are sure of its working). Still don't see anything? --> RAM not working or video adapter broken.
