Laptop shuts down

"proceed with reseating the RAM's, remove all the RAM's off for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly" ....what does this mean? My laptop turns itself off and I was reading a forum Q & A...and that is what was said. I tried everything up till that and opening to dust the vents

What would be the best RAM to replace the old one. There are so many.

Unless you give me your laptop model, I cannot tell you what kind of ram you need. Why do you want to replace the ram?

A tutorial gave me a list of things to do and I did them all and none of them helped but it said you may need to replace it. ...Acer Aspire 5670....

Take one ram stick out then try to boot, then put the ram stick back in a take out the other one and try to boot
