Hello,I have a laptop, (Hp DV6t-7000)The laptop just.. runs slow. It's a 3rd gen i7 Quad core- it really shouldn't.

I assumed it was a software issue, so I reinstalled windows, no fix.

Boot times 30 mins, 10 mins to load internet explorer.

I am not the original owner of this notebook- (I own share a metal recycling plant and pulled this out of a bin of scrap metal in the hopes I could fix and then sell it, or at the very least, sell the parts inside)

So, what's the deal here? Does the hard drive have damage, enough that it makes the laptop run slow, but not enough that it wont accept the windows install?

My thinking is the hard drive, correct?

Well if it is indeed hardware related which it should be if you did a clean install of windows and still have this issue my assumption would be hard drive as well, your read speeds must be terribly slow. I would run a check disk command and see if it returns any errors. Type "chkdsk C:" in command prompt without the quotes.

Also open task manager and see what your disk usage is at.
