Laptop starts up then shuts down almost immediately?

The laptop is an Asus Republic of Gamers computer. It starts up and then shuts down just after the display turns on and shows the Republic of Gamers logo. It then won't turn back on until you remove the battery. I've tried booting it with just the power cord and just the battery and with both, but none of those work.

It is probably a Windows problem and you might need to reinstall the operating system. If you provide some more information I might be able to help. Did you change anything before it started doing that? Did you download anything and ran it? Do you have an antivirus installed and updated?
