Laptop starts them switches off then comes back on what keys do I press to get laptop on and stay on

Make and model of your laptop? An SKU would help us two fold. If the laptop is in a power cycle, it's probable that the HDD/SSD is dead/dying or there is an issue with your ram or the board.
