So i noticed that even though my laptop was going on the internet and playing movies and music etc ok ,keyboard and mouse input was behaving really weird , i would type and it would show what letter i pressed then erase it, i would press on the start button and it would immediately close Start, so i wanted to check for viruses, i did a scan with windows defender and one with malware bites but both said my computer was clean. But then my computer got stuck so i had to turn it off by long pressing the turn off button. Then when i opened it again it was on the preparing automatic repair for about 3 hours so i again manually turned it off then ,when i switched it on it booted ok and i went to refresh it . Then when it did what it had to ,it restarted and on the starting screen it said preparing, it is 12 by now so i go to sleep and i wake up in the morning and it still says preparing, so i hard press turn off again and it gets stuck on undoing changes, i really don't know what to do it won't get past the starting Toshiba screen ,i guess i really screwed up but i have no idea what i can do? Please help.

Solution
what version of windows is it?

If win 10, on another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB << its a handy boot drive as well

what type of reset did you try to do? wipe everything or keep files/settings?

If files and settings, try making this on another PC and use it to rescue files: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

The only way to fix this now is a clean install
change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key"...

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)
