Solved! Laptop suggestions?

So I’ve been using Mac computers for a while now but my current one is 6 years old and it’s still mostly ok for everything I do but from time to time it freezes up and now that I’m going to be running stage lighting for a band I can’t afford to have it freeze up. So I’m looking for a dedicated laptop just for running lighting for a band. Basically I just use a program to edit midi files and then a program to automatically trigger click track and lights while on stage. So I don’t want to overpay when I just need a computer that is stable and I don’t need a great graphics card either. Any suggestions?

I should also add that I do some shows outside so being able to see the monitor well is important.

Sorry when I say see the monitor well I mean not as much glare from sun. Preferably I want a standard to small monitor.

Possible a 2-1 laptop would be good for you, the Dell 5290 should be at a good price used and has a bright screen https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/laptops/dell-latitude-5290-2-in-1
You may want to look into a screen shroud for the screen to block off extra light also.

MS Surface is pretty good as well.

You are not going to find a good bright screen for outdoor use in a cheap laptop.

Where would you recommended I look for used laptops? I got a refurb direct from apple once but other than that never always got new.

Craigslist, local computer shops, ebay, facebook marketplace, the vendors have outlets like Dell.
