laptop to stereo via USB

I want to output from my computer to a stereo set with a USB input. Is this possible? If so is a standard(?) male to male usb cable OK

No, that won't work, sorry. USB ports on stereos are really only for attaching storage devices (USB flash drives and sometimes hard drives).
