Hi
There are many posibilities , one i have seen a few times is a hard disk is dead or the mbr is corrupted
Remove power and main battery
Read up in manual or utube video on how to remove the hard disk
See if laptop starts up on bootable cd, dvd or usb
See if hard disk can be tested in a usb to sata tray
Using western digital data lifeguard 4 windows
In one case the hdd was dead and i replaced it with a ssd,
In the other case i found no hardware fault, refitted the hdd and the upgrade from win 7 to win 10 continued and the laptop became usable again when upgrade had finished
