laptop turns on when I open lid

Although I shut down my windows 10 laptop properly from the Power>shutdown button and wait till the screen goes blank before I close the lid, the next time I open the lid it just switches on automatically. Is this a problem I need to fix and how do I do it?

What is your laptop make and model?
You can try to install an acpi driver or change some of the bios settings

Windows 10,8.1, and 8 have a connected standby technology, maybe your issue has a relation with it.
