Question Toshiba Satellite L50-B-Lid issue

Hello,
When I open my Toshiba Satellite L50-B it automatically starts up. I have selected the shut down option when the lid is closed . However, I still experience the same issue.

I noticed when I haven't used my laptop for a week or so it asks me to set the date and time . Strange not sure why.

Sounds like the CMOS battery is dead/dying.
As such, it won't hold any settings, such as date/time, or lid functionality.

Locate and replace.
