I purchased an acer aspire v3-575-50td (i5 6200u, 4 gb ram, 500gb hdd). I am planning on upgrading to a 120gb solid state drive and 16gb of ram. I will soon be engineering student and want a fast and capable laptop that will last for a while. I figured purchasing this laptop for $400 was a decent deal. I do not install many programs and have very few files, so 120gb should be plenty for me, especially with usb drives and cloud storage options available. I am looking at this ssd: https/jet.com/product/SanDisk-SanDisk-SSD-PLUS-120GB/1340776713af4a38b90aef5790bf8ea4
and this ram: https/jet.com/product/Kingston-HX316LS9IBK216-Memory-HX316LS9IBK216-HX-16GB-DDR3L-1600-2x8GB-IMP-Black/018d08183a0f444691e02f95455ca1e8
I have the other hardware needed to clone the drive and should be able to figure it out using some online instructions. My question is largely regarding the ssd. I have a reasonable knowledge of computers, but have no experience with solid state drives. For those who have a lot of experience with a few different drives, which 120gb drive would you recommend? Also, would the upgrades I am looking at be a noticeable improvement for the money? Together I can get them on jet.com for less than $100.
