Laptop vs Desktop with similar specs price difference

How much is the difference between Laptop and Desktop + Monitor with similar specs?

Figures will be very much appreciated.

Depends on what type of build you're after.

It depends on the build. For an inexpensive desktop a laptop can probably be $100 - $200 more. For a powerful gaming desktop a comparable laptop can be $1,200+ more expensive.

For a really high end gaming desktop PC, there is no laptop equivalent. For example, there is nothing close to a nVidia GTX 680 or 690 for a laptop.
