Laptop With Good CPU

I play a lot of games, but i also need a laptop for school.
I've been thinking about buying an External GPU and then a laptop with a good CPU and ram.
Do you guys know any good laptops, that are also portable and not too expensive.
Also if you know some good External GPUs feel free to recommend them. I've found the HP Omen Accelerator, which has a USB hub (Something i really need) and the possibility of adding a HDD or SSD.
Of course it has to be a laptop with Thunderbolt 3.

IDK if this going to be completely out of your budget, but the 1000 dollar x1 carbon 6th gen is pretty good. thin, light, small and all day battery life, it also has 2 thunderbolt port. (p.s: i'm typing this reply on a x1 carbon 6th gen)
