Laptop won't boot to start

I removed battery from my compass laptop and powered it on but it only attempted to boot but with no success

Need full details about what happens, how far does it boot, any error messages that come up, why did you remove the battery, background to the issue, any funny noises the system makes like from the hard drive, etc....?
