laptop won't connect to moniter

my laptop screen broke awhile back so ive had it connected to a samsung moniter for months and its been fine. then randomly while i was playing a game it stopped working now it says check signal cable on a black screen. i connected it to another laptop and it works fine so something is wrong with my laptop and idk what please help

So when you used the other laptop that worked you used a different cord? That won't help you with troubleshooting things. You would want to test the same cord using another system not change everything at once.

actually i mean the thing on my laptop broke not the cord
