Question Laptop won't turn on with battery even tho its full

Hello, i have a problem with my laptop not using my battery at all
I have 2 batteries and my laptop wont turn on with either of them even tho one is full and the other is 87% but wont charge
I can use my laptop with the ac adapter but it keeps shutting off randomly when i play games

Maybe the problem are the batteries themselves, how old are they both? My macbook began shutting off randomly (even with the power cable constantly connected, and charge at 100%) when the battery became too old. Buying a new battery fixed this problem for me.
