Latency sucks!

Are you looking for a sound card or a sound interface? There are definitely many things to consider when looking for anything in these categories.

1.) What DAW(Digital Audio Workstation) ie. Pro Tools, Cubase, Cakewalk, etc. will you be using - if any?

2.) What do you want to spend?

3.) Do you want to record anything other than guitar?

As an assumption to your needs, I would definitely recommend an audio interface - I will list some websites of both options (sound card vs. external interface)
