I have been looking at different laptops mainly the SLI ones and I have found that there are at least a couple of companies that you can order the same laptop with one video card or two video cards. I also found a company that offers two different video cards in the same laptop. The two companies that I was looking at this are:

http://www.widowpc.com
http://www.viciouspc.com

neither company actually manufactures the components for the laptop and they both are using the exact same case for the laptops. What I wanted to know is if anyone has one of the SLI laptops from either of these companies or a different laptop with the same case (which probably means same motherboard) and if they have opened it to see what these video cards look like that are installed in these laptops? I also would like to see if there is any way of finding the actual manufacturer to see if there is any way the I would be able to order these modules.

Of course I could be all wrong and the manufacturer simply has different motherboards with different GPUs on them but it seems more likely that they would have made some sort of module for it.

You may also want to check out:
http://www.killernotebooks.com/

He has nVidia's 7950GTX's, dual core AMD's, and a 20" screen. I'm not sure everybody is offering these yet.

The below is what I have gathered from all my research before buying this laptop:

Clevo and Sager manufacture the cases and some parts, and there are tons of resellers. Very few of them actually build the notebooks but instead buy them built and resell them whole. I know KillerNotebooks actually does build the notebooks themselves.

The video cards are modular, so you can upgrade them or replace them at any point. The video cards are actually made by nVidia.

KillerNotebooks also customizes these notebooks and adds additional cooling modifications to help keep your notebook cooler, thus performing better. Killernotebooks is a very small company, and with it comes the pros and cons of a small company.

I have opened up the case to take a peek inside. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about my experience in dealing with KillerNotebooks, or about the SLI notebook you are looking at.

wow www.killernotebooks.com has a lot of nice options. Do you have any idea if it is possible to get the video modules or where you would get them from? Have you had any experience with the support from killernotebooks? If so how was it? I did not see anything on their page concerning the warranty do you know what kind of warranties they offer? My current laptop I bought from Viciouspc and they have great support (I had to RMA because of a heat problem which they claim they just removed spyware but either way they did fix the problem) and they are cheap compared to most other companies. From what I see so far I think I would consider buying my next laptop from killernotebooks though.

I followed KillerNotebooks for about 8-9 months before I bought a laptop from them.

I was hesitant to go with any non-huge company (Dell, Alienware, Gateway, HP, etc....) just because you don't know if they'll be around. I've owned many Dells, and a Gateway, and their support has gotten so bad, that I really didn't see the benefit of buying from them anymore. Also, performance wise, custom tuners (like KillerNotebooks) really take performance to the max with latest hardware and customizations.

I almost bought from sagernotebooks or pctorque a while back, but then I saw some posts on this site, and other sites about killernotebooks.

The owner, Mark, is extremely knowledgeable since he builds these things himself. His site says he has a "No BS support policy", but that's pretty vague. So I followed other people's threads, and saw he fixes thing ASAP, and even paid for their shipping.

I haven't had any need for support since nothing has broken, but he did send me a video on tuning the SLI configuration.

KillerNotebooks has a forum, which you may want to follow, since any tips/mods he posts out there will probably apply to you as well (similar notebook).

One thing I will say, his website needs some work. Its sometimes outdated, and just has broken links. Best way is to just email him, call him directly, or post up on his forum. He never seems to have an issue answering. We went through several rounds of emails on recommendations, and configurations and a nice 1+ hour phone call before I actually bought anything from him.

I saw a post of his saying that he would sell the video cards separately.
