oh ye of little knowledge. facebook is a marketing research firm, there is value in the fact they have how many millions of people participating in their research studies and marketing program? worth $38 a share worth more than $10 a share? yes

[citation][nom]santeana[/nom]This is just stupid. These people bought all these shares at ridiculous prices in the first place, especially seeing as how facebook has no intrinsic value whatsoever! It's worth so much money simply because someone decided it is! Apple is seriously overpriced too, but they actually MAKE A PRODUCT! They have a tangible product that sells and makes them money! Facebook has nothing of the sort. And now all these people are suffering from buyer's remorse and want their money refunded. It's their own fault for not doing a bit of homework before they bought the shares![/citation]

those clickable ads and those stupid games where you use cash to buy stuff is all hosted by facebook. a company pays for that space. if it didnt bring money into the paying company, they wouldnt do it. just because you dont spend cash on facebook doesnt mean the company is worth nothing. company feels that since they advertise on facebook and its bringing in business, (just like a commercial or magazine ad) they will continue to pay them to place an ad on their site. just think of facebook as radio. radio makes more money from advertisers than anything else. very simple people. whether you are on facebook or not, it is the largest social media website in the world right now for a reason. people hosted on it + advertisers seeing it as a payable experience = facebook making money

I don't understand how few people get facebook's value. Those who don't understand what facebook sells are just as bad as those who post their life on the site as far as I am concerned.

Those who use facebook as a social site are not the "consumers" of facebook. The "consumers" are those companies who buy the information about the people who use facebook. So considering that facebook says that 50% of its users are acitve everyday that means that there are close to 400 million people telling facebook not only what they like, dislike, what they are doing and where they are, but they also tell facebook what their friends like, dislike, do and where they are.

So considering that and the fact that facebook is EVERYWHERE on the internet (look at your trackers sometime) Basically facebook has become the biggest and most accurate feed for targeted marketing ever, and since targeted marketing is viewed as the next generation of marketing I would say that facebook has a pretty good product and some pretty engrossed customers.

So I am sorry but if you don't actually know what facebook's product is and yet you still rant about how you hate facebook, then you are just on the bandwagon and don't really understand what is going on in the world around you.
