Hello!

I'm here about a question regarding my Lenovo ThinkPad T410 . I want to factory reset it because Windows 10 can hardly run on it after I did the free upgrade a while back. Now I want to factory reset it. Now if I factory reset it, will it go back to the Windows 7 OS it shipped with?

Thanks!

Hi,

There's 2 ways to bring it back to Windows 7. 1st is by doing a roll back which is a built in feature of Windows 10.
- Click Start then go to Settings and look for Update & Recovery
- Click on Recovery on the left pane then you'll see "Go back to Windows 7.

2nd is to do a Factory Reset. Here's the link for the support page of Lenovo on how to do this.

Note: Doing this will delete all your files.

Greetings, Ganz:

While I'm sure Laptop_Nerd's suggestions will work, you might want to invest in a set of Recovery CDs (actually it's a USB stick) from this site:

www.lenovorecovery.com

Fill in the form under CD Order and check the price. I did this for my Y50 and it cost me about $40. In future, whenever you run into a problem with Win7 or decide to upgrade to Win10, this USB stick will come in handy, believe me!

Cheers,
