Lenovo T520 & SSD

I have a lenovo T520 and updated to latest bios. I installed the intel ssd and bios see's it but windows does not find it?

You need to use disk management and partition then format the drive.

I tried both windows7 and windows8. Neither would "see" the SSD.

Did you use Disk Manager or are you looking in MY Computer/This PC/File Explorer?

I was trying to install either windows7 or windows8 and on the install menu it did not see any available disks. So not even into windows, just booted from the DVD.

What is your bios set to for HD controller? For Win 7 or 8 it should be AHCI or at the very least IDE.

BIOS is set to AHCI.

So bios sees the drive but when you go to the install options where you can add/delete/create partitions and format you get nothing, correct?

I put an older phoenix SSD into it and windows recognized it right away. Why doesn't it recognize the intel 520 series SSD???

Perhaps its bad. Put the intel 520 in another PC and partition/format it, see if that works for you.

Yes I used AOMEI partition assistant to delete any old partition and create a new partition and then format the drive.
After that windows recognized the drive right away.
