Just bought a Lenovo G505s. Am going crazy trying to adjust from WindowsXP to Windows8, but that's another issue. I am used to trackpads, but this one has the cursor leaping all over the screen, but then fails to recognize my taps at other times.
I tried clicking on the Lenovo User Guide icon, but it is NOT A USER GUIDE AT ALL! It only takes you to NytroPro and demands you either activate a free trial or BUY it. Those are the only choices. Aaarrggh!

Trackpad driver for the G505s...

Windows 8: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/tp115w8.exe

Windows 8.1: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/tp149w81.exe

If the driver doesn't also come with a utility to adjust sensitivity, you can change that by entering the Mouse panel under Control Panel.

Edit: Ironically, the "Enhance Precision" option in the Mouse panel can sometimes cause these issues. If it is checked on when you have the driver installed, try turning it off and see what happens.
