I am trying to go from 16gb to 32gb

Memory slots are usually all grouped together, I've never worked on a laptop that has them split over two different locations, and I've upgraded quite a few for relatives/friends over the past 10 years.

Yours could be the exception of course, the RAM could be all in one place geometrically, but each pair accessible only from opposite sides of the casing, ie one pair accessed from underneath & one pair accessed from the top-side under the keyboard.

I have this laptop and have torn it down. There very easy to access, all (4) of the slots located under a big square access cover on base.

Nothing hard about it
