I bought lenovo y50 2 monthes ago and it was so good but after awhile the screen started flickering allot i tried updating the bios but nothing happend so what can i do
Flickering screens on Lenovo laptops have been reported since Feb 2013. I have been looking for a solution for 6 months now and tried everything I did find to no avail. It's ruddy annoying and Lenovo don't seem to have an answer, sometimes blaming it other software / windows 10. Mine is always worse just after boot-up / sleep. But never flickers whilst on the initial login screen ... it settles down after about 30 minutes (ish). So is it hardware or software issues? I wish someone could tell me. I certainly will not buy another Lenovo if this is typical.
1. Update BIOS to V3.03 9ECN43WW (or later version). http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS100998
2. Update the Intel VGA driver.
3. Change the Panel Self-Refresh setting to “disable” in the Intel HD Graphics control panel. (some versions do not have Panel Self-Refresh setting, skip this step.)
