My bro's looking at buying an Lenovo Y510P but we can't figure out how or where you get the second gpu for it. I have read that you currently have to buy it with the laptop..

We were looking at the laptop on currys, but it doesn't clarify whether or not it comes with the second card. Was wondering if anyone who has bought it or knows someone who has etc. could clarify if it comes with the card from here, or else where. ( http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-y510p-15-6-laptop-21426637-pdt.html )

I am also now thinking that from the lenovo site ( http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/#customize ) It comes with the second graphics card, as it is £100 more?

Thanks :)

It doesnt say anywhere it comes with two gpu's. I would want the salesman (HA HA HA HA HA HA ) in the store to open the back up and show me two graphics card bays before i would accept it has Sli capability. It only states i card , and that it has an 'upgrade bay',not sli capable far as i see. The processor is overkill, you dont need a £100 premium for the hyperthreading.
I wouldnt touch curries pc world useless lying inept theives with a bargpole, and the same goes for lenovo.

I don't think Newegg deliver outside of the US as it only lets you add your address by searching for it via your zipcode... Unfortunately, I live in the UK :(

I live in Poland so I have no idea where you can buy it in the UK. But maybe consider other options like MSI GT60 with GTX770 ? Im pretty sure that in Y510p the two gpus aren't connected with an actual sli bridge but by software (at least that's how it worked in Z500 with GT650 in SLI). One GTX770 will be more powerful than GT750 in SLI.

Well first off, spending 1000 on a laptop to play games is overkill. In 4 yrs the machine will be landfill. You want a machine with a non threaded processor and 1 graphics card bay with the best gpu you can afford in it. Check out tech radar.com and other sites for reviews.
