Lenovo Y510p WiFi Card Upgrade

I'm looking at upgrading the wireless card in my Lenovo Y510p due to slow streaming of video over my home network. I've found mixed reports saying that the Y510p has a locked BIOS whitelist - which stops the laptop functioning when not using 'approved' WiFi cards.

Ideally I would put the following card into my laptop "Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Plus Bluetooth". Would this card be compatible with the laptop motherboard and not be blocked by the BIOS? (if the BIOS does indeed block 'approved' WiFi cards? If this card won't work what is the best card available that IS compatible without having to 'hack' the BIOS whitelist?

Unfortunatly I move around a lot - having a large USB sticking out the side of my laptop isn't ideal - which is why I'm looking at replacing the stock WiFi card.

some usb adapters are as small as transceivers for wireless mice. look at the tp-link & asus in this link. http/www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?cPath=27_1048
