Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a new laptop computer, and i've been looking for a laptop with a quad core processor, and mid to high level graphics for as cheap as possible. I stumbled upon the Lenovo Y570, and it seems pretty good given that it's currently -$500 in the Lenovo Canada website. Here are the specs:

2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Processor ( 2.00GHz 1333MHz 6MB )

NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 1GB

8 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz

15.6 " HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768

750GB 5400

Blu-ray /DVD Combo

Intel 1000 BGN Wireless

Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR

6 Cell Lithium-Ion

Let me know what you guys think! If there are any cons to this laptop, please let me know because I'm somewhat close to pulling the trigger. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, WR2!

Right now, it's priced at $899 http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...=8705D5A459CAC32697EC3E976E7F7028&action=initand for that price, wouldnt just upgrading the HDD be worth it? Do you have any experience with the laptop, or are you commenting just based on the specs?

My budget right now is $1000, so this fits quite well into the budget. I'm used to my old macbook pro, but prices for MBPs are just way too expensive hehe

I have a friend with a Lenovo Y560p that I've worked on which is quite similar. It's a nice package and he likes his a lot.

The comments & recommendation are mostly based on the component reviews and other owners comments.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M review / Intel Core i7 2630QM review

There is no overwhelming 'need' to upgrade the 750GB 5400rpm HDD with a 7200rpm model like one of the 500GB 2.5" HDDs. It just would have been nice if it were included.
