Lenovo Y580 Windows 8 USB issue

I installed Windows 8 on my Lenovo Y580 (it came with the $15 upgrade) and now my USB 3.0 drivers don't work. They acknowledge something plugged in and can charge but don't actually communicate with any devices. The Lenovo forums have been a complete waste of time for help on this. Any ideas anyone?

The most recent USB3.0 driver for the Intel 7 series chipset is this one.

It's compatible with Windows 8.

How do you install it? My lappy won't allow me.. Mine's a Lenovo y510p on windows 8.. TIA!
